Inshore Flats Fishing in Southwest Florida | Redfish Kayak Fishing
Exploring new areas is always fun and exciting. No matter if you catch fish or not, the pure fact of experiencing a new scenery is always worth it. On this day we decide to head to a new area and challenge ourselves to finding some quality fish.
After breaking down a few shorelines we finally found some action on one of the many mangrove islands. It wasn’t long before Daynet was able to nail a solid Southwest Florida Redfish. After an intense battle, trying to work the fish away from the mangroves, she was finally able to land the redfish!
This fish definitely was the trophy catch for the day. But aside from that we were able to catch some quality trout, snappers, ladyfish, jacks and of course the infamous catfish. A mix of live bait and artificial were used!
Overall it was an excellent morning kayak fishing a new area and learning the fishery. No matter how familiar or unfamiliar you are with the area your fishing, it’s always important to take in all factors of nature and use them to your advantage. Paying attention to small changes in current, bird activity, or baitfish movement will provide you a good insight as to where the fish might be located.
